Meyerton SAPS bids farewell to committed officer

After three decades of service, Warrant Officer Mxolisi Steven Ncukuthu said his final goodbye with a grand salute.

Meyerton SAPS organised a warm and dignified farewell ceremony to honour the dedicated service of retiring Warrant Officer Mxolisi Steven Ncukuthu. After three decades of service, Ncukuthu said his final goodbye with a grand salute.

Ncukuthu started his career in the SAPS in 1988, and worked at various police stations in the Eastern Cape and Thokoza SAPS.

He then came to Meyerton SAPS, where he worked at the Client Service Centre, where he was then deployed to the docket store.

When different police stations came to check dockets and when dockets were reopened, Ncukuthu made sure that he was always there to do his part.

Speaking on behalf of the branch, Commander Lieutenant Colonel Makata Peter Bodibe bid farewell to Ncukuthu and thanked the warrant for his dedication and the hard work he has put into his team.

“It is a bittersweet moment, and we were honoured to have you. In all his dedication, no day did he receive a complaint from branches that came for closed or continuous dockets.”

Bodibe highlights that Ncukuthu’s strong point was time management.

“He was first at work and the last to leave as he was always making sure he did not hamper service delivery.”

Lieutenant Colonel Rashaad Dawood Makhene added that the statesman is leaving behind a legacy built on strength, unity and the vision to prioritise the welfare of the nation.

Acting Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Johan de Winnaar said, “I am proud to release my member who was honest to the organisation, respected all management without fail with pride.”

De Winnaar said he hopes this will make other colleagues take a look and resemble Ncukuthu’s attitude towards his passion.”
