Peaceful march in De Deur sends a strong message

The peaceful march against gender based violence was more than just a walk. It was a reminder that every life matters.

DE DEUR – A peaceful march along the R82 in sent a resolute message to the community: enough is enough.

Organised by I & S Motors, the event brought together employees, management, and local supporters in remembrance of the women and children who have lost their lives to gender-based violence (GBV).

Dressed in unified black and wearing purple ribbons (a symbol of GBV awareness, remembrance, and support), participants walked from Malherbe Street to the intersection near Chicken Licken on Old Johannesburg Road.

The atmosphere was defined by respect, unity, and hope.

Demonstrators marched not only to honour those silenced by abuse, but to amplify the voices of survivors still living with its devastating effects.
