Sedibeng mourns the passing of prominent community leader
Ntate Sehanka was also part of the now defunct Vaal Professional FC as club secretary.
SHARPEVILLE.- The community of Sharpeville mourns the passing of the Vaal Echoes of Love founder, Sello Andrew Sehanka.
Sehanka was a prominent figure in the community of Vaal.
He passed away at his home in Rooisteen, Sharpeville on April 7 after a long illness. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Lindiwe Mokoena described Ntate Sehanka as a person who enjoyed ‘low life’, regardless of being a prominent figure in the community.
Sehanka’s passing is a loss to Sedibeng, especially to the elderly.
Mokoena further told Sedibeng Ster that Sehanka was a selfless person, who didn’t want to see people suffering.
“I worked with Ntate Sehanka for many years, and he dedicated his life to helping those who were desperate for community help. He used to give the elderly citizens hampers, he was a remarkable person who cared for others. The elderly community is going to miss his kindness. Vaal Echoes of Love is certainly going to miss his presence and leadership,” said Mokoena.

Ntate Sehanka was also part of the now defunct Vaal Professional FC, where he was the club’s secretary. Sedibeng Ster was also told that Ntate Sehanka also started businesses at the well-known Seeiso street ATMs shops. He will be laid to rest at Unitas Park Cemetery on April 12.
His funeral service will take place at Somlandela Church, Phomolong in Sharpeville from 7:00 – 11:30.
