Detective hailed for solving brutal Roshnee murder
The sentence comprises 20 years for murder, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, and a year for being an illegal foreign national in the Republic of South Africa.
DE DEUR – Detective Sergeant Ntshidiseng Mosala has been hailed for her tireless efforts in ensuring that justice is served. This follows a hefty 36-year direct imprisonment sentence that was handed over to the accused, Samson Nguluwe, at the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on July 23.
The sentence comprises 20 years for murder, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, and a year for being an illegal foreign national in the Republic of South Africa.
Speaking to Ster North, police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola said that the case dates back to July 5, 2022.
Mosala was assigned to investigate the gruesome discovery of an African female’s body in a veld on a farm in Roshnee. Mahlomola said during her investigation, Mosala demonstrated unwavering dedication and exceptional investigative skills.
“Through meticulous investigation, it was established that the deceased was last seen with the accused on the night of June 26, 2022, at their workplace. Camera footage revealed the accused’s incriminating actions, including pulling the deceased’s body and disposing of evidence. DNA evidence further solidified the case, linking the accused to the crime scene.”
Mahlomola highlights that the investigating officer’s tireless efforts and expertise resulted in a robust case, which culminated in the conviction of Nguluwe.
The sentence was welcomed by De Deur SAPS Branch Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Selete Morolong, and acting Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Anver Hammond, who both commended Mosala’s exceptional work.
