Sedibeng netball teams need cash for new season
Tired of waiting for sponsors, the Sedibeng netball teams have since taken the initiative to address this situation.
SEDIBENG.- Local netball teams have taken matters into their own hands by hosting fundraising tournaments across the region over the past few weeks.
These matches are designed to raise much-needed cash before the new league season kicks off. This Saturday, Vaal United Netball Club will host their first event at the Vaal Action Sports Arena.
The action starts at 10:00, and the entry fee is R300 per team.
The club is raising money to compete in the upcoming Gauteng Super League.
Most of the funds will go toward travel costs, as the team expects to be on the road a lot this year.
This push for funding is not just about one club.
Across Sedibeng, many sports teams are struggling because of a lack of financial support, this hurts the development of sports in general in the Sedibeng region. Every year, the Sedibeng Netball Team struggles when they participate in the national tournaments outside the region.
Teams rarely receive financial help from big companies.
Tired of waiting for sponsors, the Sedibeng netball teams have since taken the initiative to address this situation. The Vaal United Netball Club appeals to all netball teams to sign up, show their support, and help get the players to the Gauteng Super League.
