Stolen cattle recovered in Vereeniging
No criminal case was opened as the owner confirmed satisfaction with the recovery of his livestock.
VEREENIGING.- Six cattle were successfully recovered in the Mooiland area of Vereeniging in the early hour of Wednesday following a suspected stock theft incident.
It is said that at approximately 02:50, Warrant Officer Jonck of Vereeniging SAPS received information regarding a possible stock theft in progress in the Mooilande area.

“An immediate operational response was activated, involving multiple role players to secure and search the area,” Police spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said.
Upon arrival, members from the multi-agency team followed cattle tracks leading to an open veld, where six cattle were successfully recovered. Maxambela added that drone technology was deployed to scan the surrounding area in an effort to locate suspects; however, no arrests were made.
“The lawful owner from homelands, was contacted and positively identified the cattle. The livestock, valued at approximately R30 000, was handed back to the owner. No criminal case was opened as the owner confirmed satisfaction with the recovery of his livestock.”
