SEBOKENG.- There will be soccer mania at the Sebokeng Ajax soccer ground in Zone 12 this weekend.

The local development teams will battle against each other in the annual Master Zondo Foundation Tournament.

This annual tournament, which features the following age groups: U11, U13, U15, and U17, kicks off on Saturday and runs until the long weekend of the Easter Holidays. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Master Zondo, who is behind this initiative, said they are ready for the tournament. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it will be a bumper weekend of soccer.

Zondo said this one tournament gives young players the platform to showcase their talent.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this is the only tournament all about development.

Zondo says this year’s tournament promises fireworks as the teams want to see their names on the trophies. He urges the Zone 12 community to come in numbers to support these future Bafana Bafana stars. The tournament is divided into groups in all the divisions.

“We are looking forward to the weekend. In fact, everyone, especially the team, is looking forward to the weekend. They have been training hard, preparing for this tournament, and it is time for their hard work to be rewarded. For the Master Zondo Foundation, this tournament is part of ploughing back into our community with the little we have,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
