Woman in hospital after shooting

He said an unknown gunman appeared at the driver's side and fired five shots at the vehicle.

A woman (50) is in hospital after being shot in Margate Extension Three on Monday.

Margate Saps spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane said the woman had been in her vehicle waiting for the gate to be opened when the incident occurred.

He said an unknown gunman appeared at the driver’s side and fired five shots at the vehicle.

“The women was rushed to hospital for treatment. It is believed that one of the bullets struck her on the right chest,” said Ncane.

Margate Saps is investigating a case of attempted murder. No arrests have been made yet.
