Woman critical after Craigieburn home invasion

She sustained gunshot wounds to her head and abdomen.

A 26-year-old woman from Craigieburn, Umkomaas is in critical condition after being shot in a home invasion.

The incident occurred earlier today (March 20), and reports indicate that the suspect gained entry to the woman’s home after posing as a delivery driver.

As per IPSS Medical Rescue, when paramedics arrived at the scene, they were able to stabilise the woman before transporting her to a nearby hospital; and she was under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue advanced life support paramedic.

The woman sustained two gunshots wounds to her head, and one to her abdomen.

SAPS was approached for comment but none was received at the time of publishing.
