Accused in Mtwalume teen’s murder in court
According to the teenager's grandfather, Phendulani Khomo, the family is grief-stricken.
Lungisani Sithole of Nyangwini area in Mtwalume appeared in the Umzumbe Magistrate Court on March 16, in connection with the murder of Siphesihle Khomo.
The case was postponed to March 24 for bail application.
Siphesihle’s (19) decomposed body was found near the Jojo River at Nyangwini three weeks after he went missing on January 10.

The teenager’s grandfather, Phendulani Khomo, said the family is grief-stricken.
“We are relived that someone has been caught and we got to see him. We will let the law take its course, but he should not be allowed back in the community.”
But the grandfather has questions for Sithole. “Where exactly did he kill my grandson? Who was he with when it happened because where he was found showed that he was not alone?”
Also, he said he wants to know the reason why his grandson was killed?
Siphesihle was described as someone who loved to sing gospel songs.
Chairperson of Woman of Umzumbe Bongekile Xaba said Sithole was caught last Friday, after he had allegedly told someone that he had murdered Khomo.
“We have been asking a lot of questions with regards to what had happened to Siphesihle. We are glad that an arrest has been made.”
