Mtwalume murder-accused abandons bail
Lungisani Sithole's next court appearance is on April 28.
Lungisani Sithole who appeared in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court on a murder charge on March 31, abandoned his bail application.
According to his lawyer, Sithole preferred to remain in custody until his trail.
The case was postponed to April 28 for further investigation.
The accused was in court in connection with the murder of Siphesihle Khomo (19) of Nyangwini area in Mtwalume.
Khomo’s decomposed body was found near the Jojo River at Nyangwini three weeks after he was reported missing on January 10.
The teenager’s grandfather, Phendulani Khomo, said as Sithole has abandoned bail it has taken pressure off the family.
“The decision he took clearly shows that there is a lot more that he knows and that there is more that he will reveal when he is on trial.”
Khomo added that the family wants to know from Sithole how and where exactly Siphesihle was killed, so that they can do a proper cleansing and fetch his spirit.
“We do not have peace because every time we are together as a family we start thinking of Siphesihle. We try to control our emotions, but it is difficult.”
