Example in oneness
Let’s maintain the unity in the body of Christ because we are one bread and one body.
1COR. 10: 16- 17 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. (KJV)
Apostle Paul used the sacrificial death of Jesus to teach the responsibility of the believer towards one another. He taught walking in love, forgiveness and giving, using what Jesus did in our redemptive work. By what Christ did we learn examples of Christian conduct.
Our opening text is another context of Apostle Paul teaching unity in the body of Christ by using the Passover feast celebrated by the Jews. The Passover feast was a typology of Jesus’ sacrificial death for our salvation from the judgment of sin. Apostle Paul used the typology of what Christ did to teach Christian conduct to the Jews, who practiced what Jesus did in typology.
