PUB CASE: Govender pleads not guilty
The court heard officer Darren Govender's application for bail earlier today.
The bail application held in the Port Shepstone District Court earlier today for officer Darren Govender, who is facing a schedule six offence of premediated murder, has been postponed to next Wednesday.

The magistrate is Vuyokazi Diza.

Dressed in a smart white long sleeve shirt and jeans, Govender (37), who is an assistant superintendent law enforcement officer for Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, appeared in court, represented by attorney Sharlene Govender and advocate Wesley Matthews.
Govender also faces charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and reckless use of a firearm in public.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him. He remains in custody.
Govender handed himself over to police on Wednesday, February 12 after the incident in which businessman Brad Hughes (54) was shot and killed at a pub in Shelly Beach.
