Medals for mother and daughter from Hibiscus Coast Karate Academy
It was a special achievement for the two.
A mother-and-daughter karate duo from Hibiscus Coast Karate Academy represented the Ugu region at the KSA League One held in Gqeberha in late August.
The championships included an elite and development component.
Neriah Peeriyalal took part in the elite girls 10/11 kata and kumite divisions, receiving a bronze medal for kumite and respectable fifth place for kata.
Nichola Peeriyilal took part in the development veterans female kata and kumite divisions, receiving gold in both kata and kumite.
WKF Ugu Karate congratulated both mom and daughter on representing Ugu Karate and showcasing that the sport is inclusive of women of all ages.
