Driver’s callous action irks motorist

EDITOR – I would like to make it known that I witnessed an act of cruelty that shocked and angered me to the point of writing this.

For the owners of a little black dog that lives around the Warner Beach area, if he returns home with injuries which are consistent with being hit by a car, this is what happened.

On the evening of Thursday, 25 July a driver in a white VW golf hit and ran over a little black dog on Kingsway in front of Breakerview in Warner Beach.

What shocked me even more was that the driver didn’t even stop, but carried on and pulled into a nearby cafe.

I was driving behind and saw the whole thing, so I stopped and tried to assist the little dog, but he was able to run away.

After confronting the driver at the nearby cafe, he showed no signs of remorse and after informing him the dog had run away, he could only say that it was clearly okay because it could run.

I am horrified to realise there are such callous people living among us.
