
THE Amanzimtoti Cricket Club (ACC) had another good weekend, with seven teams playing.
Four of the seven teams won their matches.
The first team once again had a great win against Verulam, beating them by 98 runs in their 50 overs.
Cameron Mill was in outstanding form, hitting 46 before losing his wicket.
With the ball in hand, Bryce van der Linde picked up three wickets for 24 runs in 6 overs. Warren Fry once again showed his class with figures of 2 wickets for only 10 runs in 10 overs.
The second team played against Newlands East and lost by 31 runs. The third team also had a tough day against DHS Rhythm 4 and lost by 104 runs. The fifth team had a better day on Saturday when they won their game against Newlands 3 at the ACC oval.
The under 13 team was off to a cracker start when they beat FAM on Sunday by 10 wickets. The under 11 teams played their first league match against each other and it was a close encounter, with the A side winning by eight runs.
The first cricket team received their new kit for the season on Friday, 4 October at an event held at the Warnadoone Lifesaving Club. The new kit was handed over by Rodger from Spice Wok, the sponsor for this year’s team.
