Lack of toilets at Rogies Park a concern
It is a great concern to us that there are no public toilets at Rogies Park.

EDITOR – It is a great concern to us that there are no public toilets at Rogies Park.
Every weekend and during school holidays, there are hundreds and hundreds of people picnicking in Rogies Park, with absolutely no toilet facilities.
The result is that often people use the area next to Rusoord Flats to urinate.
It is right under the windows of residents. The beach access stairs are also a favourite urinating spot.
The hoboes who live in the park are also of great concern. Needless to say, they use these areas daily as toilets.
This unhealthy situation must be addressed. I was informed by a municipal worker this week that toilets are going to be built at Rogies Park for the informal traders' use only.
What about the rest of the public? There used to be two portable toilets but they were removed about a month ago.
Why? This situation needs to be addressed urgently, especially since the summer holidays are approaching.
