Put dinner in an animal’s dinner bowl this Christmas

With the festive season fast approaching, spare a thought for our four-legged friends who will suffer through another fireworks season.

“Once again Guy Fawkes Day and the fireworks season is looming – festive for some, but not for others,” said co-ordinator, Marlene Prinsloo. “The suffering of those who cannot speak for themselves starts. The SPCA is inundated with stray animals at this time of the year. It is an immense task and it relies on donations to feed and house these animals.”

You can help if you dig deep into your pockets and contribute to the annual animal Christmas Dinner Fund. The fund’s contributions go towards food for the homeless and destitute animals that are housed by Toti SPCA, and not SPCA staff.

People who wish to contribute can have a short message on behalf of a pet printed in the Sun. Send donations either to SPCA or c/o M Prinsloo, 601 Strandburg, PO Box 312, Amanzimtoti, 4125. Please note, cheques must be made out to Toti SPCA.

Alternatively, make a direct deposit into Toti SPCA’s bank account. Details are: Standard Bank Prospecton, branch code: 057827, account number: 053211189. Put the reference as ‘Christmas’ so the SPCA knows where to allocate the funds and email the amount and your message to strandburg@lantic.net or fax to 031-903-7918.

“As usual I will kickstart the fund with a donation of R200 – in memory of Misty and Honey and all my beloved pets and my animal-lover friend May, who died on 1 January in Texas,” said Marlene.

Toti SPCA also appeals to the public to make use of its boarding facilities. To book, contact 031-904-2424/5 or email info@spcatoti.co.za
