Lions help Acts to help the needy

ETHEKWINI South Lions Club received a formula donation from Nestle, which was handed to A Centre That Serves (ACTS) to be distributed to the communities of Nsimbini, Ezimangweni and Kingsburgh West.

ACTS is currently assisting a pre-school soup kitchen that feeds 483 children, mainly orphans four times a week and also provides groceries for 11 families once a month. ACTS is also involved in several projects, including sewing, block-making, knitting and chicken farming.

“Ethekwini South Lions will support all community projects we can assist with,” said PRO, Mandy Roux.

The club also assisted a member of the public. “We were approached by a member of the community for assistance for a mammogram. With our help, the woman had a mammogram done and she has received a clean bill of health. Thanks to Lake, Smit & Partners for their assistance with this project.”
