Metro Police contribute to road vehicle carnage

Come-on, you the policing officers and supervisors get your act together; use the powers invested in you to make the roads a safe place to commute.

EDITOR – It is a known fact that in order to rectify untenably high vehicle accident rates, one has to enforce the basic rules of the road.

A good example of the failure of the Metro Police to apply these rules was the traffic mayhem in the Rogies Park area of Beach Road, Toti during the festive season public holidays of Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Incidents such as:

  •  Double and triple vehicle parking.
  •  Parking on the pavements
  •  Parking in the direction of incoming traffic.
  •  Blind overtaking long lines of traffic against the flow of the opposite direction traffic.
  •  Unnecessary creation of traffic congestion.

The above incidents were observed by the policing units without any form of reprimand or fine been imposed. Why?

It is common practice for policing vehicles to park in loading bays and in no-parking designated areas when they do their shopping at Toti Mall.

Come-on, you the policing officers and supervisors get your act together; use the powers invested in you to make the roads a safe place to commute.
