Police nab 61 for various crimes

Nine people were arrested for possession of whoonga.

TOTI police made 61 arrests in connection with various crimes between 30 December and 12 January.

One person was arrested for common assault; one for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm; six for residential housebreaking; nine for general theft and one for malicious damage to property.
Seventeen people were nabbed for shoplifting and four for property suspected to be stolen. In drug-related crimes, nine people were arrested for possession of whoonga and nine more for possession of dagga.

One person was caught for drunk driving, one for breach of peace; one for discharging of a firearm and one for fishing without a permit.
Police also recovered a number of stolen items during the same period. These included a vehicle; three cellphones; an IPad; a gaming console and four gaming console games; a Garmin GPS and a printer.
