ALTHOUGH donated items are coming in slowly for Kingsburgh Lions Club’s auction sale, the organisation is grateful to those who have so far contributed towards the fundraiser.
The auction, which aims to raise much-needed funds for the service organisation takes place at Lords and Legends on Sunday, 29 March.
“As time is running out, we appeal to the generous public to assist us in donating one item per household. Every little bit will go a long way to help us help others in need,” said Lion president, Pat Wilson.
All types of household goods are needed, small pieces of furniture, ornaments, appliances, paintings, crockery, literally anything that can be re-sold. Items should be in good condition. If unable to deliver, arrangements can be made to collect.
So, look around in your homes and find an item to donate, as the public’s generosity enables the club to successfully help the needy in the community.
Funds raised will be used to purchase wheelchairs, commodes and other equipment for various local homes for children and the elderly and for the physically and mentally disabled.
The viewing of items at the auction starts at 11.30am. Registration is at noon and the bidding is at 1pm.
A non-refundable registration fee of R10 will be required from bidders.
