Add leaves to welfare’s money tree
Pledge to make it your social responsibility project to help Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society fundraising initiative
HAVE you decided how you are going to give back to the community?
If not, make it your social responsibility project of the year to help grow Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society’s ‘money tree’ fundraising initiative.
The organisation encourages businesses and the community at large to help raise R70,000 – R1,000 for every year of its 70 years of existence. The aim is raise this amount by November when it celebrates its milestone anniversary.
A large cardboard tree has been placed in its offices in Warner Beach. Leaves will be added as contributions come in. However, the tree is currently bare, as only R8,000 in donations have been received.
“We urge the community to help us grow the leaves on the tree. We welcome any amount, a donation of R10 will help us buy a loaf of bread,” said senior social worker, Sandra Govender.
The money raised will be used to continue rendering its much-needed services in the community, among them projects, programmes and providing material assistance to the needy.
To contribute, call welfare on 031-916-2274.
