Going back to dark ages

We unfortunately cannot do internet banking so have to go in at the end of the month

EDITOR – In the good old days when ABSA Bank was in Toti CBD, it operated very well.

Then Galleria opened and the bank moved there.

We have been clients of Absa for 35 years. Before Christmas, Absa closed for renovations which resulted in the bank being smaller and operating with less employees. Three months into the New Year and it has really deteriorated.

We unfortunately cannot do internet banking so have to go in at the end of the month. There were chairs in a queue for pensioners and disabled people but these but these have now been taken away with no logical explanation.

We were there on Thursday, 31 March and it was absolute chaos. We stood in a queue for an hour and a half. Elderly people were confused and fed up but I might add, young people were also complaining. On making a phone call, I was told Absa is now dealing with three times more clients than before and only has three tellers to serve everybody.

It seems like when you are old or disabled no one is interested in your business anymore. This is not progress, it’s like being in the dark ages,

EDITOR – We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that our clients may have experienced during their recent visit to our Galleria branch.

We take note of their concerns regarding seating facilities and long queues.

Our Galleria branch does provide seating facilities to all our patrons.

On the date mentioned, we had more of our customers calling in at Galleria branch due to one of our neighbouring branches not being operational. We are grateful of the feedback and will endeavour to engage further with our customers and clients to address such and other concerns.
