Welfare drives child protection message

KINGSBURGH Child Welfare hosted a child protection programme at its Warner Beach offices on Thursday, 2 June.

The programme was part of Child Protection Week which took place from 29 May to 5 June.

“Neither words nor statistics can adequately capture the essence of protecting our children,” said senior social worker, Sandra Govender. Through our child protection programme we aim to establish awareness in the shared role we each must play in safeguarding the children of our nation.

During the programme we presented training on protecting children in the care of our early childhood development centres in the community.”

The following aspects were covered in the programme: Hygiene and nutrition, safety, child abuse neglect, child pornography, child trafficking, bullying and cyber bullying, and child abuse reporting.
