Pirate DVDs seized in Isipingo

More than 2,000 pirate DVDs were confiscated.

Two men were arrested in a pirate DVD raid in Isipingo on Wednesday, 14 December.

Alpha Alarms tactical unit joined members of the Isipingo SAPS crime prevention led by Vispol commander, Lt Col L Rossouw and regional manager of the Southern African Federation Against Copyright Theft, Sagren Naicker in the raid in the Isipingo CBD.

“The team cordoned off an area and swooped on illegal traders,” said Alpha Alarms

communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

“Two suspects were detained at Isipingo SAPS and more than 2,000 pirate DVDs were confiscated and entered into the SAPS 13 register.”

The men face charges of contravening the Film and Publications Act and the Copyright Act.
