Pupils educated on exciting career options

The purpose of the day was to expose grade 7 pupils to different careers.

“The world is your oyster” was the message given to pupils when Dr Made Senior Primary School in the Kwafelekisi area held a career day on Thursday, 13 September.

The purpose of the day was to expose grade 7 pupils to different careers to assist them in choosing the correct path for them when they go to university, as well as to complete the relevant subjects at high school.

Different professionals from various organisations were invited to speak to the pupils about their professions. They also explained which subjects they needed to excel in, the points that are needed in that career path, which institutions offer courses and the career opportunities available.

Guest speakers included journalist Qiniso Mbili, lawyer Sthoko Mkhize, librarian Slie Mosia, businessman Nhlakaniphi Thabethe, nurse Sinako Mchiza, engineer Thembelihle Ngcobo and sports manager Njabulo Zondi. The day went off well and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
