Four men, aged between 18 and 20, were arrested in Durban yesterday morning (Wednesday, 18 October) by Point-based police in possession of several computer and electronic items which had burgled from an Umbumbulu primary school.
Point SAPS members conducting crime prevention duties at about 9.30am spotted the four men walking along Robyn Lane while carrying three bags. Among the four was a local high school pupil still wearing his school uniform.
The police officers conducted a search of the men and their bags, which contained computer towers, a flat screen monitor, Wi-Fi router and other items. The four were placed under arrest for being in possession of suspected stolen property.
In their follow-up investigation, police proceeded to the Emakholweni area in Umbumbulu where computers, a microwave, projector and other items were seized from one of the men’s homes. A safe and bag were also found in the nearby bushes.
