WATCH: Limit your chip intake and lead a healthier life

This article highlights how eating chips everyday can impact your life.

Chips packaged in packets are delicious, cheap and easily accessible.  Everybody eats them but some eat too much and this could have a negative effect on one’s life.

According to health website healthyeating.sfgate.com, eating chips daily is not a great idea.

Chips are typically high in fat and calories.  The article states that 28.3 grams of plain potato chips, or about 15 to 20 chips, contains about 10 grams of fat and 154 calories.

Low nutrition: Packet chips have little to no nutritional value, so if you are eating one or more packs a day you are not getting your daily requirements of vitamins and minerals.

High blood pressure: The sodium content in chips may negatively impact your cardiovascular health. A high intake of sodium can cause an increase in blood pressure, which can lead to stroke, heart failure, coronary heart disease and kidney disease.

High cholesterol: “Frequent chip consumption can contribute to high cholesterol levels because of the amount and type of fat found in chips. Most chips are deep-fried, a process that creates trans fats, the most dangerous type” said the article
