Kingsburgh fuel thieves arrested

With assistance from CCPO supervisor Michael Mkhize, Blue Security and ET Rapid Response officers, the vehicle was stopped and the men were arrested.

Four men who fled without paying for their fuel were nabbed by Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) in the early hours of Friday morning, 1 March. The CCPO said that just before 3am the driver of a red VW re-fuelled at Caltex in Gus Brown Road and left without paying.

A short while later CCPO senior supervisor, Rupert Smit and his crewman Hopewell Nkosingiphile saw the vehicle driving towards Kingsburgh West. With assistance from CCPO supervisor Michael Mkhize, Blue Security and ET Rapid Response officers, the vehicle was stopped.

Two suspects were caught and two fled into the bushes but were caught a short while later. The suspects and the vehicle were handed over to Amanzimtoti SAPS.
