Amanzimtoti Cycle Club will have their year end function on Saturday, 7 December, at the clubhouse at Amanzimtoti Sports Centre.

Delicious food will be supplied by Indian Origin, there will be a cash bar, live music and good company should make for a wonderful end to the year. Everyone is welcome to attend. Members pay R130 per person and non-members pay R150. Starting time is 6pm for 6.30pm. Come and enjoy what is always a fun evening for all. RSVP to Marlene Elsip on marlene.elsip@wakefields.co.za or call her on 078-132-7446 before Friday, 29 November.

The MTB club ride on Saturday, 2 November, was at Illovo, with riders starting off at the Illovo Business Park – some of the more industrious riders riding down to the start. As always, Illovo delivers a tough, but thoroughly enjoyable ride, catering for both the experienced and less experienced riders. Visit the club’s Facebook page to view the video put together by the club’s chairman Barry Walker.

The Discovery 94.7 Mountain Bike Challenge takes place this weekend, with riders having the option of taking on the 10km, 25km or 55km tracks. Always a fun and challenging ride, good luck to all the riders who will be making the trek up to the Highveld to take part. Not forgetting of course that the Discovery 947 Ride Joburg will take place next weekend.

Both road and mountain bike members ride during the week and weekends, in and around Toti. It is so much safer to ride in a group. There is also the MTB track around the sports fields which has been rehabilitated to a point where a fair amount is once again ride-able after the storm damage. Anyone is welcome to ride the track to improve their skills.

For more information about the cycling club, visit their website on www.amanzimtoticycle.co.za or contact the club’s chairman, Barry on 083-459-8253.
