[LETTER] Frustration over copper pipe theft in Amanzimtoti
Something needs to be done to combat crime in the area.

EDITOR – In October last year you published my letter with serious concerns dealing with the theft of copper pipes in Amanzimtoti.
If anything, the problem has escalated to a point beyond control. Thieves are active in broad daylight and through the night.
As long as scrap metal dealers are purchasing stolen pipes and fittings, the thieves will continue. Thieves are known to carry large kitchen knives so it is just a matter of time before there is a serious altercation with dire consequences.
A thief was caught red-handed with pipes, knives, tools and electric cable in Acutt Road a few weeks ago and duly handed over to SAPS by the CCPO.
