Obituary: Ronald ‘Ronny’ Schleicher

He was widely known in the fishing circles and was an upstanding member of the community.

THE community reacted with shock at the news that the legendary fisherman and well-known community member, Ronald ‘Ronny’ Schleicher, died.

Schleicher (67) of Warner Beach died on July 10, and he was widely known for his generosity and for caring about those close to him – he was always willing to lend a helping hand. After the news broke on social media, hundreds of people sent condolences and fondly recalled their positive interactions with him.

Schleicher was a father to Keri and Jan, a grandfather to Reef, a stepfather to Candice and Christopher, and a brother to Lynne Northcote.

“There are many memories and thoughts of him as a father and a grandfather, brother and a trusted friend. May Ronny rest in peace knowing and known by his Saviour, healthy and happy now in his rest,” said Lynne.

Schleicher’s life will be celebrated at the Warnerdoone Angling Club at 1 Ashwell Road in Warner Beach on July 20, from 11:00 to 14:00.
