Crow’s operations director, Clint Halkett-Siddall, said the cat was rescued at the side of the road by a member of the public and was taken to Crow.
“This little one has been confirmed as a Southern African Wild Cat through thorough examination and genetic testing by our expert nurses. He is under the dedicated care of our team, receiving essential medical attention and nourishment to ensure his recovery and well-being,” said Halkett-Siddall.
Southern African Wild Cats are a rare species, recognised for their distinct markings and exceptional hunting skills. They have been known to cross-breed with domestic cats.
Anyone who wants to suggest a name can do so on Crow’s Facebook page in the comments section of the post about the cat.
“Stay tuned for updates on his progress, personality and journey back to the wild. Your support is crucial in giving him a second chance at life,” said Halkett-Siddall.
