Organised by Umlazi Toyota, the Fill-A-Truck pet-food collection drive was started after the dealership heard about the struggle the SPCA had been going through since its car was hijacked recently. Umlazi Toyota’s sales executive and new car specialist, Arnau Broodryk, said they decided to help and ease the load on the SPCA volunteers.

“We had some people dropping off pet food in the truck, and the SPCA got some cash donations, as well. We are thankful to all who have donated, and we also thank Makro for allowing us and the SPCA to use their space for free for this campaign,” said Broodryk.

Umlazi Toyota has also provided the SPCA with a car to use for free temporarily while a permanent replacement is being organised. Broodryk urged the community to assist the SPCA in any way it can. SPCA volunteer Stacey Wall thanked Umlazi Toyota for organising the campaign.

“All donations, no matter how big or small, make SPCA’s work easier,” she said.
