JUST IN: Heavy rain causes flooding on certain roads

As more heavy rain is predicted to fall throughout the day, motorists are advised to exercise caution on KZN roads.

AS HEAVY rains continue, motorists and pedestrians have been asked to exercise caution today (October 21) as some roads have flooded.

• N2 northbound from Isipingo on-ramp – avoid the left lane as it is flooded.
• The left lane of the N2 northbound near the old airport is flooded.
• N2 north joining the N3 under the Spaghetti Junction is flooded.
• M4 from The Bluff – the two left lanes before the Esplanade turn-off are flooded.

eThekwini Municipality’s emergency services are on standby and, in a statement, asked pedestrians to avoid crossing flooded walkways or roads.

“Stay updated on weather and road conditions through reliable sources,” it said.

In case of an emergency, call the City’s emergency services on 031 361 0000.
