As of World Wildlife Day on March 3, the non-profit organisation has kicked off its year-long celebration, including special features, educational content and exciting events that showcase the organisation’s remarkable impact.
Operations director, Clint Halkett-Siddall, said, “Since its humble beginnings in a garage in 1977 to our official opening in 1980, Crow has grown into KZN’s leading wildlife rehabilitation centre, rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing thousands of animals while inspiring conservation action.”
He assures that Crow is committed to another 45 years of conservation, ensuring that future generations inherit a thriving planet.
“Wildlife rehabilitation is not a luxury, it is a necessity. With increasing threats such as habitat destruction, climate change and human-wildlife conflict pushing many species toward extinction, the need for Crow and the work we do is more urgent than ever before. Without adequate funding, conservation efforts cannot continue. Crow stands at the forefront of this battle, advocating for increased support to protect South Africa’s vulnerable wildlife,” said Clint.
