ALS Paramedics confirmed that three occupants are still missing after the Renault Triber was dragged away by powerful floodwaters, while two people narrowly escaped with their lives.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, the vehicle left the road during the height of the storm.

“At this stage, reports indicate that two people managed to escape from the wreckage, however three people remain unaccounted for,” Jamieson said.

Emergency services returned to the scene early this morning (December 22) to conduct a briefing before launching an intensive search operation for the missing individuals.

Rescue teams are battling challenging conditions as they comb the area, with growing concern for the safety of those still missing. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area while search efforts continue.

ALS Paramedics remain on scene, and further updates will be released as information becomes available.
