Poinsettia Park Retirement Centre’s fête draws crowds

Poinsettia Park Retirement Centre's community services manager, Wendy Lloyd, said 185 retirement homes were represented at the fête.

RESIDENTS came out in numbers to support Poinsettia Park Retirement Centre’s annual fête on July 4 to raise funds for its projects that include maintenance and security.

The event is held under a different theme every year, and this year it was “enchanted garden”, which fit well with the nice and clear weather.

There were many stalls selling delicious food, arts and crafts, books, face painting, and pony rides. The line dancers also wowed spectators at the tea garden.

The centre’s community services manager, Wendy Lloyd, said 185 retirement homes were represented at the fête.

“It was a resounding success. Many thanks to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts,” said Lloyd.
