Suspect dies during shoot-out with police in Folweni
The police said the man was found to be in unlawful possession of an AK-47 rifle, two pistols, and 241 rounds of ammunition.
A WANTED suspect was killed in Mangamazini, Folweni, during a shoot-out with police in the early hours of November 19.

Warrant Officer Phumzile Ndlela of the Folweni police station said the man was believed to have been involved in several serious offences, including murder, robbery, and hijackings.
“The police officers followed information received about the suspect, and they went to a house where he was hiding. When the officers approached the suspect, he opened fire at them,” said Ndlela.
The 31-year-old man was killed when the police shot back. The shooting was reported to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate for investigation. Ndlela said the man was found to be in unlawful possession of an AK-47 rifle, two pistols, and 241 rounds of ammunition.
In an unrelated incident on the same day in the same area, a Toyota Rumion was taken in a house robbery. The police investigated and recovered the vehicle from J-section in Umlazi.
The Folweni police station’s commander, Lieutenant Colonel Nkululeko Kweyama, applauded the good work by the officers and encouraged the community to report all criminal activities.
