Driver escapes N2 hijacking attempt
A white motor vehicle pulled alongside the truck and the occupants opened fire in an attempt to force it to stop.
A TRUCK driver narrowly escaped with his life after hijackers tried to force him to stop on the N2 southbound towards the Umlazi off-ramp on October 2.

PT Alarms’ spokesperson Dhevan Govindasamy said his tactical units were activated after an alert to an attempted hijacking that was in progress was received.
“It was established that while the truck was in transit, an unidentified white motor vehicle pulled alongside it and the occupants opened fire in an attempt to force it to stop and hijack it,” said Govindasamy.
He confirmed that no injuries were sustained during the ordeal. The scene was secured and handed over to the police for further investigation.
