Emergency power outage in Isipingo

eThekwini technicians are replacing the ageing infrastructure to ensure an improved and more reliable electricity supply to Isipingo.

ETHEKWINI Municipality will switch off electricity from 09:00 today (July 2) to complete urgent upgrade work between Isipingo and Umlazi.

Why?
• Final phase of replacing old underground cables
• Switching to the new supply lines
• Servicing circuit breakers for safety

Areas that may be affected:

• Lotus Park

• Malukazi

• Philani Valley Mall (Umlazi)

eThekwini added that power restoration will happen in phases and should be completed by the end of the day.
