Isipingo’s loved principal retires
Jagatheesan Naidoo says he's extremely proud of the contribution made by parents and guardians at the school.
AFTER being a shining example at Kamalinee Primary School for 41 glorious years, principal Jagatheesan Naidoo bade farewell and has started his retirement. He started as a teacher at the school in 1982 and was promoted to principal in 1997.
At a farewell function held for him on February 27, the school’s staff, the Isipingo community, and current and former learners arrived in numbers to see Naidoo off in style.

In a joint statement released by the school’s governing body, Naidoo was hailed as a visionary and a mentor who led the school to new heights.
“Naidoo played a pivotal role in the transformation of this school from excellent to extraordinary. His legacy includes many expansions of our institution, including a double-court Astro-turf, junior primary grounds, a fully functional media centre, fully tiled ablution facilities, a tiled shower area at the pool, new pre-fabricated classrooms for Grade R, and air conditioning in all classes,” it said.
With his wife, Nishie, and three daughters by his side, Naidoo said he was overwhelmed by the grand scale of the ceremony. “As I say farewell, I am extremely proud of the contribution made by parents and guardians at the school. It is my wish that they continue supporting the school,” said Naidoo.
He said he was lucky to have been surrounded by positive people that walked side by side with him as he made the journey from being a teacher to a principal.
“Being at Kamalinee is what made me tick and inspired me to continue leading the school,” He said. Naidoo’s last day at school as principal was February 28.
