Toti Berea Community Police Sub Forum strengthens crime-fighting efforts

The Toti Berea CPF will now focus on recruiting more patrollers to ensure the peace of mind of all residents.

THE Toti Berea Community Police Sub Forum recently held a community meeting in an effort to answer the community’s questions and strengthen crime-fighting efforts.

The sub-forum’s chairperson, Gary Kelly, said the meeting with Toti Berea residents marked a significant step forward in their collective efforts to enhance community safety.

“While the turnout may not have been as large as expected, the engagement and enthusiasm displayed by those present underscored our shared commitment to fostering a safer neighbourhood,” he said.

During the meeting, a slideshow was presented, highlighting crime statistics and outlining the proposed strategies for bolstering security measures. Kelly said the data presented served as a reminder of the challenges they face, but it also reinforced their belief that by working together, they can make a difference in safeguarding families and homes.

“Moving forward, our focus will be on recruiting more patrollers, with a keen eye on the crime statistics provided in the presentation. We firmly believe that a well-equipped and vigilant patrol team is essential in deterring criminal activity and ensuring the peace of mind of all residents,” he said.

In line with their ongoing efforts to foster community cohesion, Gary said they are excited to announce their upcoming patroller/community ‘bring ‘n braai’ event scheduled for June. “This gathering presents an excellent opportunity for residents to connect, share ideas and strengthen our bonds,” he said.

The sub-forum extended thanks to the representatives from ET Rapid Response, Blue Security, PT Alarms and CCPO who attended the meeting and pledged their support.
