Another burst delays water restoration in Isipingo Beach
During the repairs to the damaged water pipe, a damaged underground sewer pipe was also discovered which further delayed repairs.
REPAIRS to the main pipe in Prospecton which burst and left thousands of residents without water have been completed but another burst pipe near Isipingo railway station has delayed the restoration of water.

Damage to the 400mm diameter arterial line left taps dry in Dakota Beach and Isipingo Beach for three days. Ward 90 councillor Shad Nowbuth said operations were hampered by the presence of a damaged underground sewer pipe which was near the water pipe being repaired.
As residents were looking forward to water flowing from their taps again, the Isipingo burst occurred along a Transnet gas pipeline, which required digging to be done by hand under the supervision of Transnet officials.

In Isipingo Hills, a water outage was experienced on James Avenue and Keerath Road as a result of a burst pipe in James Avenue. Nowbuth said a 300mm diameter pipe was fitted and residents should have water supply.
