Charity walk tomorrow will follow this route in Amanzimtoti

Walkers from Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas will be participating in a 5km charity walk on March 15 for Walking the Talk Foundation.

WALKING the Talk Foundation’s inaugural annual 5km charity walk that is set for tomorrow, March 15, from 08:00, will be going ahead despite the ongoing weather warning. Some 400 participants will be taking to the streets for the walk and motorists are asked to be vigilant.

The walk will carry on, however, if push comes to shove and the rains are too heavy, the event will move into the hall to do the announcements and prize giving, with the only exception being the walk itself.

The overarching goal of the walk is to raise funds for 1 000 classrooms to be built in deserving schools. The South Coast SUN is a media partner of the event and will have a water table along the route.

The route:

* From the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre, follow Hutchison Road and turn right into Riverside Road
* After 250m, turn left into Entombeni Drive
* After 1.6km, turn left into Wanda Cele Road
* Follow Wanda Cele Road for 2.2km and along the way it changes to School Road
* Turn left into Reed Road for 950m and it changes to Riverside Road along the way
* Turn right into Hutchison Road and take a left into the Civic Centre.
