Watch: Amanzimtoti River floods Civic Road

The Amanzimtoti River originates from the Adams Mission's wetland system, and it is fed by several smaller rivers and streams. 

THE Amanzimtoti River burst its banks today (August 29), flooding Civic Road under the N2 bridge near the Amanzimtoti CBD.

The flooding is seasonal and occurs annually, making the low-lying road difficult to navigate. Smaller vehicles may struggle in the water, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes until the river subsides.

Although there has been no rainfall in recent weeks, the Amanzimtoti River is sustained by the Adams Mission wetland system and fed by several smaller rivers and streams.
