The home has often relied on donations to feed its residents and to keep the doors open as a result of underfunding. The centre is administered by Durban and Coastal Mental Health (DCMH), which in turn is funded by the Department of Health and the Department of Social Development. It is home to 67 residents between the ages of eight and 60.
