Take a walk with the SUN: A trip to CCPO [Video]

For this week's walk, SUN journalist Nikhil Gopichand learns more about what the Community Crime Prevention Organisation does.

IT HAS a hand in nearly every case of crime in the Amanzimtoti area, and for this week’s walk, I, Nikhil Gopichand, took a short trip to the Amanzimtoti Sports Centre, where the Community Crime Prevention Organisation’s (CCPO) office is located, to learn more about the NPO.

From humble beginnings as a neighbourhood watch, CCPO was formed to address and combat the rising crime rates in Amanzimtoti. Now, it plays a pivotal role in the community due to its proactive approach to tackling crime, and collaborates closely with the Amanzimtoti police, the Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum (ACPF), and local security companies.
