Heather Liebenberg, chairperson of Seed of Hope, said the party served to celebrate the children that attended its afterschool programme during the year. The programme is called “Simunye,” which translates to “We are together”.

The children got to play games like tug-of-war, balloon balance races and hula hoop jump and throw.

“We showed them love and appreciation. The children performed a Christmas play for their parents that included music and dancing, after which they received awards and presents. We are grateful to organisations like the Kingsburgh Lions Club, His Will Family Church and BNCC Network of churches in Bhekulwandle for their tremendous donations, which helped us to have gifts, party packs and refreshments for the children,” said Liebenberg.
